Volunteer Producer & Manager
Cascades Music Ensemble
The first music album Jean remembers listening to as a small child was The Who’s Tommy. It was on eight track played by his sister in dad’s 1972 Lincoln Mark IV (talk about your boomin Hi-Fi!). It’s a memory that shaped his musical tastes forever. His wonderful parents had a passion for music too, albeit of a different sort – so young Jean studied classical violin for the next 10 years, then flew-off to college to discover not that many friends really want to hear you play the violin (sorry all you violinists out there!). Of course he highly values the classical training he received, although deep down he’s still trying to forgive his parents a bit (and find that old car). His lovely wife Patricia played piano through her childhood, and their three sons, Damon, Christian, and Steven are all avid musicians who participate in a variety of ensembles here in Bend, including of course – CROCK! Jean runs a software firm based in Austin by day (see Open Sky), and does his best not to cry when his boys jam the rock’n roll at night!
